Nathdwara Kankroli and Pushkar

In the Haldighati area of Rajasthan, the little village of Nathdwara is famous for its temples and is located 48 kilometres from the city of Udaipur. This place is home to a little religious community in Rajasthan on the banks of the Banas River. Nathdwara's distance to Rajsamand City is around 16 kilometres. In the fifteenth century, Vitthal Nath Ji founded the first Nathdwara. This city is home to the world-famous Shrinathji Temple, which is dedicated to Shrinathji, a beautiful Deity of Lord Krishna. This Deity was originally worshipped in Govardhan Hill near Vrindavan and was moved to Nathdwar during the 17th century to protect the Deity from the Mughal invasion. The Deity has been worshipped in a gorgeous manner in the city of Nathdwar ever since and the Lord has been blessing countless devotees who come to worship Him.

One important place to visit as part of the yatra is a small town located about 65 km away from Udaipur called Kankroli. It is famous for the Dwarkadheesh Temple located on the banks of the Rajsamand Lake. The temple is of great religious importance to the Vaishnavas and followers of Vallabhacharya sect since the temple is devoted to Lord Krishna (Dwarkadheesh).

Pushkar is another place we will be heading to as a part of the Yatra. Pushkar is one of the most ancient cities of India. Located in Rajasthan's Ajmer district in midst of Aravali range, Pushkar is often called tirtha-raj, which literally means the king of pilgrimages. There are several temples in Pushkar and the most famous temple is the Brahma temple, which is one of the few temples dedicated to Brahma in the world. Pushkar is also famous for the Pushkar Lake, which has 52 ghats. Pilgrims from across the country visit the lake to take a dip in its holy water.
