Five thousand years ago, when Lord Krishna appeared on this planet, He brought His divine abode Vrindavan to enact transcendental pastimes. This holy dham is non-different from Krishna and is as worshipable as the Lord Himself. Vrindavan, the heart of Braj Bhoomi, is the most important place of pilgrimage for devotees of Lord Krishna. Scriptures state that visiting Vrindavan is equal to having darshan of Lord Hari. Hence, this spiritual town of temples experiences an influx of people from across the globe every year.
It was the grand vision of His Divine Grace A.C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founder-Acharya of ISKCON, to spread the glories of Krishna and Vrindavan all over the world. During one of his lectures, Srila Prabhupada talked about how human beings have been building skyscrapers everywhere and remarked, “Oh, there are so many skyscrapers. Why not build a skyscraper temple for Krishna?” These powerful words led us to conceive the Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir project and fulfill his desire.
Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir will consist of a grand temple of Lord Sri Krishna at its centre and harmoniously combine elements of both Indian temple architecture and modern architecture. The temple will be surrounded by a park with varieties of lush vegetation adding to its beauty. We want the temple, its architecture, the environment to reflect the spirit of Vrindavan and its ancient temples that will transport the visitors to the times of Krishna.
It is Krishna’s miracle that the temple has manifested to its present stage. As the project unfolds, we envision a vibrant spiritual centre bustling with activities. People from all over the world will eagerly take part in grand festivals and various programs that fill their hearts with joy creating indelible memories. It is a unique opportunity for us to be a part of this glorious project that is destined to leave a great legacy.
We look forward to your support and participation in the vision of Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir to place Krishna on the world mindscape and Vrindavan on the world map.
Hare Krishna!
Sri Madhu Pandit Dasa
Chairman, Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir
