A devotional initiative for education, character formation, and the spiritual upliftment of society

Gītā Jayantī marks the auspicious day when the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Śrī Kṛṣṇa, compassionately instructed His dear devotee Arjuna with the transcendental knowledge of the Bhagavad-gītā on the battlefield of Kurukṣetra. Though spoken more than five millennia ago, the Bhagavad-gītā remains ever fresh, eternally relevant, and universally transformative.

As Śrīla A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda has emphasised:

“Bhagavad-gītā is the essence of all Vedic knowledge and the most important book for the upliftment of human society.”

In the spirit of honoring this sacred occasion, our temple is delighted to announce Gita Fest 2025, a two-day devotional and educational festival designed to introduce the timeless teachings of the Bhagavad-gītā to children, youth, families, and the broader public.

What Is Gita Fest 2025?

Gita Fest is an annual cultural and spiritual initiative conducted around Gītā Jayantī. The festival aims to present the teachings of the Bhagavad-gītā to young minds in a way that is engaging, accessible, and spiritually uplifting—through competitions, cultural presentations, and experiential learning.

Event Dates

  • November 27 & 28 – Competitions & Festival Activities

  • November 29 – Grand Prize Distribution Ceremony

With the blessings of Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa and the cooperation of the community, this year’s Gita Fest endeavors to reach 5,000 school children, offering them a memorable introduction to Kṛṣṇa’s divine instructions.

Why Gita Fest Matters

Modern children face increasing academic pressure, emotional strain, and social distractions. Śrīla Prabhupāda repeatedly reminded us that genuine education is incomplete without spiritual understanding. The teachings of the Bhagavad-gītā provide:

  • Clarity of identity and purpose

  • Strength of character rooted in dharma

  • Values based on humility, compassion, and truthfulness

  • Spiritual confidence to make wise decisions

  • Inner peace through regulated living and devotional practice

Śrīla Prabhupāda emphasized that when children are given the opportunity to hear and chant about Kṛṣṇa from an early age, they naturally develop qualities of leadership, kindness, and spiritual depth.

Gita Fest is thus an offering of service—an opportunity to plant the seeds of devotion in the hearts of the next generation.
